Meet the team

Simba

CENTRAL LIVERPOOL FOSTER HOME
As our very first rescue, Simba has played an important role in shaping our Sanctuary. Spending a decade on the streets and still being one of the friendliest cats we’ve met has taught us that no cat, no matter their age, should be ignored. Simba teaches our local community how friendly street cats can be, shows our rescue cats they have nothing to fear from humans, and teaches our rescue kittens how to live in a multi-cat household.

Simba’s human Elara spends her days running and organising the sanctuary, caring for neonatal kittens and sick cats, handling vet trips, and working with her local community to care for the alley cats.

  • Luna

    FORMBY BASED FOSTER HOME
Luna unforunately lost her mother when she was still a baby. A vet nurse raised her and Rabbit Rescue North West found her a forever home with three other rabbits. Luna’s human Rhana spends her days working on charity admin, rehoming, and social media.

  • Ket

    EXETER BASED FOSTER HOME
Ket was abanoned in Denmark after her owners purchased her as a holiday pet. She was found heavily pregnant and very underweight. Inges Kattehjem took her in and after months of waiting Ket finally found her forever family. Ket’s human Lizi spends her day running the Exeter Branch.

  • Gwenivere

    FORMBY BASED FOSTER HOME
Gwen was found on the streets of Liverpool very confused and suffering from some form of head trauma. Silth’s Sanctuary took her in and she became a failed foster after 2 months. Gwen now plays an important role as foster mum to our feral kittens. Gwen’s human Sam spends his days dealing with finances, socialising kittens, and admin.

  • Luna and Eclipse

    VOLUNTEER
Luna and Eclipse were dumped by their previous owners. Tiny Paws in Manchester rescued them and found them a forever home. Their humans spend their days helping the charity through driving, admin, social media, and fundraising. They also foster other small animals!

  • Bonewheel

    VOLUNTEER
Bonewheel was rescued by Dierentehuis Zoetermeer when she was very young. Wheel lived at the shelter for weeks by herself until her human came to give her a forever home. Wheel’s human Jeff spends his days working on our website and social media from the Netherlands.

  • Orion

    VOLUNTEER
Orion came to Adoption for Pets after being dumped by his previous owner for being too shy. He waited weeks for his forever home, but eventually found it. Orion’s humans spend their days helping the charity by driving, fundraising, and socialising cats.

Currently there are around a dozen human volunteers working to keep the sanctuary running. To all our volunteers, a massive thank you for all the time, effort, money and dedication you put in to changing lives.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help. If you are interested, fill out our volunteer information section.
